Semaglutide comes three ways: compounded vials, brand pens and brand tablets. Each has a lowest price and a price you pay once the dose settles. They are rarely the same number.

Why the lowest price is rarely the month you pay
Brand offers put the low number at the start. Wegovy’s $199 is for a new patient’s first 2 fills[2]. The pill’s $149 is the 1.5 mg starting dose[2].
The Wegovy tablet label sets 25 mg as the maintenance dose[1]. That bottle costs $299[2]. The pen is different. Its standard price is flat from 0.25 to 2.4 mg[2].
Compounded sellers vary. Some price by dose, and some by vial. Ask what the month costs at the dose you will reach.
Price the milligrams, not the vial
The Wegovy label’s usual maintenance dose is 2.4 mg a week[1]. Four weekly doses make 9.6 mg per 28 days. That is label arithmetic, not a dose for you. Price the dose your clinician prescribes.

Brand pens at their lowest
Wegovy and Ozempic are both semaglutide pens from Novo Nordisk. Their standard self-pay prices are the same, $349 a month, at the doses both pens share[2][4]. Ozempic is used for type 2 diabetes[4]. Wegovy is labeled for weight[1].

The legal backdrop
FDA declared the semaglutide injection shortage resolved on February 21, 2025[5]. Its grace period for 503A pharmacies has ended[5]. Outsourcing facilities had until May 22, 2025[5].
