Wegovy injections need to be refrigerated, at 36°F to 46°F[1]. The label then allows a single-dose pen or syringe, if needed, to be kept at 46°F to 86°F for up to 28 days before its cap is removed[1].
Wegovy tablets are the exception. They are stored at room temperature, 68°F to 77°F, in their original bottle[1]. Both forms deliver semaglutide, and the pill’s price ladder is in Wegovy pill cost.

How long Wegovy can be out of the fridge
For the single-dose pen and syringe, the limit is 28 days[1]. The Medication Guide says to throw the pen away once it has been out of the refrigerator for 28 days or longer[1]. It must stay in its original carton for that time, which protects it from light[1].
Two conditions come with the allowance. The pen’s cap must still be on, and the temperature must stay at 86°F or below[1]. Wegovy HD, the 7.2 mg dose, is a single-dose pen and follows the same rule[1].
A whole box can live outside the fridge
Novo sells self-pay Wegovy by the box, and one box is 4 single-dose pens for 28 days[2]. With one injection a week, the 28-day allowance covers the whole box.

The math only holds if every day stays at 86°F or cooler, and the pens stay in the carton[1]. A box that sat on a hot doorstep does not qualify, however few days it was there.
The FlexTouch pen follows a different clock
The label also lists Wegovy FlexTouch, a single-patient-use pen holding four weekly doses of 2.4 mg[1]. Before first use it stays in the refrigerator[1].
After first use, it can be kept out of the fridge or in it for up to 56 days[1]. The prescribing information gives that range as 59°F to 86°F[1]. The FlexTouch Instructions for Use print a narrower 68°F to 77°F[1]. The narrower range is the safe reading.

When the label says to throw it away
The Medication Guide lists the cases for a single-dose pen or syringe[1]. Throw it away if it has been frozen, exposed to light, or exposed to temperatures above 86°F[1]. Also throw it away after 28 days or more out of the fridge, or after use[1].
The label also says not to store Wegovy in the freezer or right beside the fridge’s cooling element[1]. A back-of-the-fridge shelf can freeze a pen without anyone noticing.
What a spoiled pen costs
The standing self-pay price covers one box of 4 pens at every dose from 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg[2]. Wegovy HD has its own price[2]. Divided by four, that is the cost of a single ruined pen.

New self-pay patients pay $199 a month for the first 2 fills at the two starting doses[3]. That offer is introductory, so the table shows the standing price that applies after it. Neither price page lists a price for the FlexTouch or the syringe[2][3].

Packing Wegovy for a trip
On a trip of four weeks or less, the 28-day allowance means no cooler is needed while the temperature stays at 86°F or below[1]. Pack the pens in their carton, and count the days from when they left the fridge.

- On what date did it leave the fridge, and where does day 28 fall?
- Will it stay at 86°F or below, in its carton and out of the light?
- Is the cap still on every pen that has not been used?
